Dynamo Dream, stylized as DYNAMO DREAM, is an upcoming science fiction dystopian cyberpunk web series created by Ian Hubert, and acts as both a sequel and a parallel story to the main Dynamo series, as well as a reboot introducing newcomers to the world of Dynamo. The plan, according to the About section on Ian Hubert's Patreon page, is to have both series co-exist, but with Dynamo Dream allowing Hubert to wrap up the story faster by moving a lot of the plot points from the main series over in Dream. In addition, the Patreon will fund both the production of the main series and Dream, with the latter being the bigger focus initially.[1]
Ian Hubert released a teaser trailer for Dynamo Dream on his YouTube channel on February 27th, 2020.[2] Prior to this reveal, Hubert had mentioned the reboot/side/sequel series a few times, including in his worldbuilding talk at the Blender Conference 2018.[3]

Future of the main series[]
According to the "About" section on Ian Hubert's Patreon, he still wishes to release the rest of the main series (simply titled Dynamo), but doing so has proven to take longer than he expected. In the "About" section he says that pledging to the Patreon will offer him an opportunity to get them out finally. However, he also writes that in order to wrap the story up somewhat faster, he has been "sliding a bunch of the plot points into a sort of parallel show", referring to Dynamo Dream.[1]
Hubert have talked a few times in interviews about his motivations for making Dynamo Dream and using it to wrap up a lot of the plot points from Dynamo rather than doing it with the main series. For instance, on APril 7, 2020, Hubert appeared on the Blender Foundation's YouTube channel in their Blender Everyday series, where he said that despite having nearly completed hours' work of unreleased Dynamo episodes, it has proven difficult to get his friends together to film any new things in order to finish them alltogether, and in addition, everybody are a decade older from when Dynamo began, have families and different lives. According to Hubert, he is trying to wrap up the story, or at least part of it, with people who still live in the city and so make more sense to use.[4] Additionally, Hubert said in an interview in the Art Cafe series on YouTube on May 1, 2020, that he would rather not release something he has worked on for an entire decadee in order to make the audience watch what he is doing today.[5]
All this seems to imply that Dynamo Dream and Dynamo will eventually co-exist, with Dream being a parallel story. In addition, the new series will also help complete the story faster than if Hubert was only making the main series.
